Noida: A 28-year-old man died in a
road accident near the EPE in Greater Noida. Police said they believe his Bullet motorcycle slipped, leaving him trapped underneath. Investigation suggests he may have died from the weight of the vehicle and burn injuries caused by the engine and silencer.
Police said they received information about the incident around 10am on Monday after a passerby found the man lying unconscious beneath a Royal Enfield motorcycle on Bisahda Road near the expressway in the Dadri area.
“Upon reaching the spot, police personnel found the man trapped under the motorcycle. He was pulled out from beneath the vehicle, but by then he already died,” an officer said.
Gaurav, a resident of Sikandrabad, was likely returning home from work when the accident occurred, police said. Scratch marks on the road suggest the bike may have skidded after the rider lost control. Police suspect Gaurav was unable to free himself after the bike fell on top of him. Heat generated from the motorcycle’s engine and silencer also caused burn injuries to his body.
He likely died on the spot after remaining trapped for a long period of time. The area sees relatively low traffic movement, which may have delayed help from reaching Gaurav in time, police said.
The man’s family has been informed and autopsy results are awaited. No police case has been registered so far as there is no immediate indication of foul play. Investigation is underway, and police said they are examining all aspects related to the incident.
