Two murders reported in Nashik city in as many days
Nashik: Two murder cases were registered at different police stations in Nashik city between Sunday and Monday.In the first case, registered with the MIDC police station, 27-year-old Vishal Hiwrale — a resident of the Chunchale area — was murdered with sharp weapons after he confronted two men for staring at his wife."The deceased had argued with two people from the same area as they used to stare at his wife," a police officer said.On Saturday night, the accused — Kuldeep Uchit (26) and Piyush Wagh (19) — attacked Hiwrale with sharp weapons, leading to his death. A complaint was registered early on Sunday following which the accused duo were arrested.In the second case, another 27-year-old man, identified as Rahul Raut, was attacked on Saturday night after an altercation that ensued over sharing of a cigarette.An officer from the Panchavati police station said Raut and his friends were smoking near a temple at Navnath Nagar around 9.30 pm. The accused, Rohidas Aher (26), came there and started demanding a cigarette from Raut. "This led to an altercation between the two. Things got heated and in a fit of rage Aher hit Raut with a blunt object on his head and face, severely injuring the latter," a police officer said.Raut was rushed to the civil hospital where he succumbed to the injuries early on Monday. "We have arrested the accused and are investigating the case. Initially an attempt to murder case was registered, but after Raut's death additional sections have been added," the officer said.
