One held for sexual assault

Mangaluru: Police have arrested a man on charges of allegedly sexually assaulting a woman and threatening her, following a complaint filed by the survivor regarding an incident that reportedly took place in 2023. A woman alleged when she was alone at her house at night that accused Suresh came there, sexually assaulted her, and threatened her with dire consequences. Based on the complaint lodged on June 7, Dharmasthala police registered a case under sections 376 and 506 of the IPC. Police took the accused into custody and produced him before the court on June 9. The court subsequently remanded the accused in judicial custody.
