Woman murdered by estranged husband in Palani

Cleared/190 WordsDindigul: A 45-year-old woman was brutally murdered by her estranged husband at Pandian Nagar on the outskirts of Palani in Dindigul district.The deceased was identified as Kaleswari, a resident of Pandian Nagar.Police said that on Monday the body of an unidentified woman, estimated to be around 40 years old, was discovered amidst thickets in Pandian Nagar, located behind the Palani railway station.She was suspected to be murdered after being struck on the head with a stone. The body has been recovered by the police and sent to Palani government hospital for an autopsy.Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased was living alone following a separation from her second husband, Magudeeswaran, a native of Melakottai panchayat.Police said that the couple had been experiencing persistent marital discord due to allegations of Kaleswari’s associations with other individuals. On Sunday night, Magudeeswaran reportedly confronted her regarding these issues. The confrontation escalated into a violent altercation, during which the Magudeeswaran struck Kaleswari on the head with a heavy stone, causing her immediate death.The Palani Town police registered a case. Police successfully tracked and apprehended Magudeeswaran shortly after the incident.
