Two from Bihar held in separate cases involving minor girls

Lucknow: Chinhat police have arrested two men from Bihar in separate cases involving kidnapping of minor girls, days after the Allahabad high court flagged concern over rising cases of missing girls. Police said Ajit Varman, 19, a resident of West Champaran district, was arrested for allegedly luring away a minor girl from Chinhat. The girl had gone missing on April 6, following which her mother lodged an FIR. In another case, Asif alias Naimulla, 20, also from West Champaran, was arrested for allegedly abducting and sexually assaulting a minor girl. The girl was recovered from Aishbagh railway station on Jan 25 and Asif was arrested from Narkatiaganj on Wednesday.
