This is shameful for the State (Govt) as well the Centre. They should apologise and answer why they did not sack the CM till now?...Who is the PM answerable to? Both the Houses or the staircase to the Parliament? Why does he not say inside the Parliament what he said outside? Why has he made this a prestige issue?
Manipur is burning & horrific videos have come to light. The govt should hold discussion on it. Why is it running away? There is a double engine govt still all this violence in the state
People are protesting across the state regarding the incident and demanding the strictest punishment for the accused. Accused number one, who was arrested earlier, his house was burnt by women yesterday. Manipur society is against crime against women. They consider women as their mothers. This protest is to support the government to punish the accused.
I had raised the question in the parliament but wasn't given a chance. Govt should discuss this issue and we demand PM Modi to release a statement...PM Modi made a statement outside the House, while he should have done that inside the House...
I feel the opposition is not serious about the discussion on the Manipur issue. The government wants to discuss the Manipur issue. PM Modi himself said that the country is ashamed of whatever has happened in the state and assured strict action. Still, if the opposition does not want to discuss it only means that they are not serious.
Parliamentary discussion will take place on this matter as the Manipur incident was a gruesome act that invokes contempt and shouldn't be attempted against any woman. Prime Minister Modi has also spoken on this so, the proper things will be taken care of.
Manipur incident is definitely very serious and understanding the situation, PM himself has said that what happened in Manipur has put the entire nation to shame. PM has said that strictest action will be taken over the incident. We do want a discussion in Parliament over Manipur. I had said this in the All Party Meeting and I reiterate this in the Parliament that we want a discussion in the House over Manipur. But I see that there are a few political parties that unnecessarily want to create a situation here so that the discussion on Manipur can't take place. I am clearly levelling allegations that this Opposition is not serious over Manipur as they should have been...
I would like to say just one thing, especially for BJP, PM and others - Samar shesh hai, nahi paap ka bhaagi keval vyaaghra, jo tatasth hain, samay likhega unka bhi apraadh...How the CM is still holding onto his Chair after his statement that 'hundreds of such incidents happened'?
Underscoring that “silence is not an option”, Mizoram CM Zoramthanga on Thursday urged PM Narendra Modi and his Manipur counterpart, N Biren Singh, to act immediately to restore peace in the troubled state and bring all the perpetrators of the violence against the two women to justice. It’s pertinent to note that Zoramthanga’s party, the Mizo National Front (MNF), is a constituent of NDA.
Zoramthanga, who has been constantly voicing his concern over the ethnic conflict in Manipur and offering his services to Biren to help bring back peace in the state, on Thursday tweeted, “The whole region needs a permanent solution for the great problem Manipur is having which can really be solved only by the Central Govt.”
