Nomination of G Sudhakaran’s namesake rejected
Kottayam: The nomination of the namesake of former CPM leader G Sudhakaran was rejected.Election Commission dismissed the nomination of Sudhakaran, a native of Chettikad in Pathirappally, Alappuzha, who submitted his papers alongside CPM leaders. The decision was taken after a detailed scrutiny revealed incomplete information in the affidavit. The candidate submitted two sets of nominations, both lacking complete details. UDF workers pointed out these discrepancies, leading to the rejection of the nomination. The development is a significant relief for G Sudhakaran, who is contesting independently after severing ties with CPM. It also serves as a setback for CPM who fielded the other Sudhakaran, a member of the farmers' association, with the aim of splitting the votes significantly.
