John Brittas Will Represent The PartyKochi: Even while the CPM is adopting a stiff stand towards senior Congress functionaries who demanded interrogation by enforcement directorate (ED) against former chief minister of Kerala and politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan, the party will attend the INDIA bloc meeting to be held in New Delhi on Monday.Rajya Sabha member John Brittas will represent the party at the meeting.CPM general secretary MA Baby sent a letter to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday, seeking a clarification the demands made by Congress functionaries like Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi for ED action against Vijayan. According to the CPM functionaries, the act of the Congress leaders is "weakening the INDIA bloc". “We will be attending the meeting as we can’t go back from our fight against the BJP and its communal and authoritarian rule. The party general secretary will not be attending meeting,” a party source said. The party is learnt to have decided that senior functionaries like Baby should not attend such meetings until there is a solution to the issues raised by the party.
