Fake railway official held at Kanpur Central station
Kanpur: The Railway Vigilance Team caught a fake railway official at Kanpur Central station on Friday night. The accused, Sanjay Kumar, was travelling on the Shiv Ganga Express train, posing as a railway official. He had displaced several passengers on the train, following which someone filed a complaint. The vigilance department team was alerted upon receiving the information.According to reports, as soon as the Shiv Ganga Express arrived at Kanpur Central station, the vigilance team swiftly took the suspect into custody. During the search, several fake railway documents were recovered from him, including a fake ID card, duty pass, and Suvidha Pass. In addition, thousands of rupees in cash were also recovered.Initial interrogation revealed that the accused was using these fake documents to mislead people and was travelling by claiming to be a railway official. The vigilance team is now conducting an intensive interrogation of the accused to determine who else is involved and how long he has been carrying out this fraud. Further legal action is being taken in the matter.
According to police, the accused may have been involved in such activities for a long time.Railway officials said strict action will be taken against the guilty. Passengers have also been urged to immediately report any suspicious person to the railway authorities or police.
