Jaipur: In a major crackdown against organised criminals and encroachers, Jaipur South Police and Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) Wednesday jointly demolished illegal property worth Rs 2 crore allegedly linked to a history-sheeter in Muhana area.According to the police, the accused, identified as history-sheeter Shankar, allegedly occupied the land illegally for the last 12 to 13 years. The demolished property was spread across around 200 square yards on govt land near Diggi Road in Jaipur.Deputy commissioner of police (South) Rajrishi Raj said, “The encroachment included temporary and permanent structures built on prime govt land near Muhana Mod. The illegal occupation had created traffic bottlenecks on the state highway, and locals were allegedly threatened whenever they objected to the encroachment.”He said the campaign against history-sheeters and hardcore criminals would continue, and illegally acquired movable and immovable properties would be identified and demolished as per law.Police records show that Shankar has around 11 criminal cases registered against him, mostly related to theft, housebreaking and assault, along with several preventive actions under CrPC and BNSS provisions.Police records show that Shankar has around 11 criminal cases registered against him, mostly related to theft, housebreaking and assault, along with several preventive actions under CrPC and BNSS provisions.
