Hyderabad: Rains lashed several parts of Hyderabad on Monday evening, bringing brief relief from the intense summer heat even as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) continued to warn of heatwave conditions across Telangana. According to data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), Hayathnagar recorded the highest rainfall within GHMC limits with 15 mm rainfall on Monday. Other areas that received rainfall included Madhura Nagar in Saroornagar (7.3 mm), Prashanth Nagar in Vanasthalipuram (7 mm), Hayathnagar Defence Colony (5.8 mm), Nagole Rock Town Colony (4.5 mm), and Alakapuri in Saroornagar (3.5 mm).Across the state, Madgul in Rangareddy district recorded the highest rainfall at 29 mm, followed by Malchelma in Sangareddy district with 24.3 mm and Kongarakalan in Ibrahimpatnam with 21 mm. Veldanda in Nagarkurnool received 20.5 mm, while Shaniagaram in Siddipet recorded 20 mm. Several other parts of Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Nirmal districts also witnessed light to moderate showers.Despite the rainfall activity, the IMD has forecast heatwave conditions at isolated pockets in Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Khammam, Suryapet, Warangal and Hanumakonda districts over the next few days. The weather department also stated that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are likely at isolated places across Telangana.
