Shepherd died after a lightning strike in Koppal

Koppal: A shepherd was killed after being struck by lightning at Jabbalgudda village in Koppal district on Friday night. The deceased has been identified as Kariyappa Dyamanna Myadneri, 35, a resident of the village. According to police, Kariyappa was halting at a farm on the outskirts of Jabbalgudda when lightning struck, killing him on the spot. Koppal Rural police have registered a case in this regard. In a separate lightning-related incident, six cows tied at a farm died after being struck by lightning at Siddikeri village in Gangavathi taluk.
