4 minor girls go missing in city

Guwahati: Four minor girls have gone missing in the city after leaving home for school, police said. Police have launched an investigation and are reviewing the CCTV footage from key transit points across the city.Kapil Pathak, OC of Basistha Police Station, said the girls left their homes on Monday morning for school but did not return. “They did not inform their parents about their whereabouts,” he added.Police said the families approached them on Tuesday and filed missing persons reports, after which a case was registered.Investigators are examining CCTV footage from areas including railway stations, bus terminals and other transit points. Police suspect the girls may have left the district and are widening the search.Family members have alleged foul play and said they are concerned about the girls’ sudden disappearance. The incident has triggered anxiety among residents.
