Panaji: Anjuna police have filed an FIR against Akshay Pandurang Injal, a native of Kolhapur, Maharashtra, for making his workers install LED lights at a hotel without adequate safety measures.
Aniket Maruti Patil, 24, a resident of Belagavi, Karnataka, died from electric shock due to the absence of safety measures.
The FIR states that on June 3 at around 4.30pm, the work was being carried out at the banquet hall of Hotel Park Regis, Arpora, through Injal, who is the proprietor of ‘NK Lights’.
He had employed Patil to install LED lights at the aluminium truss installed above the main stage of the hall “without providing him with any safety equipment and without observing all safety measures”.
“Due to the negligence of the accused person, the victim suffered electric shock while doing LED setup and he died due to electrocution,” the FIR states. The accused has been issued a notice.
