Delhi University Student Union Election 2023 Results Live Updates: ABVP wins three seats; Amit Shah says victory reflects faith in ideology that puts national interest first
The ABVP on Saturday won three central panel posts, including that of president, in the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) and the Congress' student wing NSUI bagged the remaining one.
Tushar Dedha of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) won the post of DUSU president, defeating NSUI's Hitesh Gulia by a margin of 3,115 votes.
ABVP's Aprajita won the post of secretary and Sachin Baisla the post of Joint Secretary
The DUSU elections were last held in 2019. The polls could not be held in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19 while possible disruptions to the academic calendar prevented their conduct in 2022.
Elections at 52 colleges and departments for the central panel were conducted through EVMs while voting for the college union polls was on paper ballot.
DUSU is the main representative body for most colleges and faculties. Each college also has its own students' union, elections to which are held annually.

DUSU polls: ABVP leading in three out of four posts
The RSS-affiliated ABVP was leading on three out of the four central panel posts of the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) after 14 rounds of counting, according to DUSU election officials. For the post of DUSU president, the ABVP and the NSUI are in a neck-and-neck fight with the former leading by 2,200 votes. While the NSUI was leading for the post of vice president, the ABVP was leading for the post of secretary and joint ecretary by a significant margin.
