New Delhi: A 12-year-old boy sustained a gunshot injury to his leg after being caught in firing allegedly carried out by three men in northeast Delhi’s New Usmanpur area on Monday.Police said they received information about the firing and rushed to the spot. Preliminary investigation revealed that three men had allegedly opened fire outside the residence of a 43-year-old man, identified as Dharmender.During the incident, the boy, who was passing through the area on his way home, was struck by a bullet in the foot. He was rushed to the hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.A forensic team inspected the crime scene and collected evidence. Police subsequently registered a case and launched an investigation.Two of the accused, identified as Prankur (29) and Harsh (22), were apprehended. A country-made rifle was recovered from their possession. Efforts are underway to trace the third suspect and ascertain the motive behind the firing, police said.
