Dehradun: The fourth board meeting of the Dehradun Municipal Corporation (DMC) was held on Wednesday, during which three key proposals were cleared. These included fixing a maximum amount of Rs 5,100 to be sought as ‘badhai’ by members of the transgender community and increasing the daily honorarium of sanitation workers from Rs 500 to Rs 800.“Steps will also be taken to ensure an equitable distribution of sanitation workers across every ward,” said chief municipal commissioner Namami Bansal, adding that the session will resume at 11 am on Thursday.Other key proposals to be discussed are centred on civic concerns such as sanitation, drainage and infrastructure. The agenda includes plans for dog control measures, microchipping of animals and expansion of gaushalas in Shankarpur, along with setting up an incinerator for the safe disposal of animal carcasses.It also includes a discussion on the illegal occupation of municipal land flagged by councillors from areas like Nathuwala, Patel Nagar and Miyanwala. Proposals will also include requests for property tax relief for 2020–23 (Covid-19 years). Areas such as Bhagat Singh Colony (Ward 49), Sevla Kalan (Ward 86), Tilak Road (Ward 22) and Nehru Colony (Ward 57) have reported broken or incomplete roads, missing drains and poor streetlight coverage.
