Man held for killing brother

Berhampur: A 72-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly hacking his younger brother to death at Kadampadar village under Kandhamal district’s Tumudibandha police station limits on Monday, over a land dispute. Gauntia Patra, of Kadampadar, allegedly struck his younger brother, Budu Patra’s (62) head with an axe and he died on the spot. The axe was seized, police said. Preliminary investigation revealed there was a long-standing dispute between the brothers over possession of a bamboo farm and partition of landed properties, police said.
