The wait is finally over. 'The Boys' season 5 episode 8, the series finale titled 'Blood and Bone', has arrived, bringing seven years and five seasons of storytelling to a close. The stakes could not be any higher heading into the final episode, with the fate of Homelander, Butcher, and the rest of the characters finally set to be decided.
The penultimate episode delivered one of the most heartbreaking moments of the entire series, as Frenchie sacrificed his life to ensure that Kimiko and Sage would survive Homelander's arrival at their hideout. Rather than have Homelander end things, Frenchie was left dying in Kimiko's arms from radiation poisoning. His last words to her, mirroring the original comics, were "Je t'aime. From the first."

What to expect in 'The Boys' Season 5 Episode 8
Before his passing, Frenchie and Butcher had been working to give Kimiko a power similar to Soldier Boy's power-sapping chest beam, hoping she could use it to depower Homelander and then finish him. Whether or not that plan will work remains one of the biggest questions heading into the finale.
What is known is that there will be a showdown between what remains of The Boys and The Seven at the White House, with large-scale consequences expected for all characters. Will Homelander survive? Will Butcher sacrifice himself to end all Supes? Even fans of Garth Ennis' original comic book series are left guessing, as the show has diverged significantly from the source material in its final stretch.
Seven years of storytelling, countless twists, and one of the most unpredictable casts of characters on television ,all of it coming down to a single final episode.
The season 5 finale marks the end of a chapter that completely redefined what superhero content could look like on screen.
'Blood and Bone' is now available to stream.
