Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced fresh financial incentives for larger families, promising Rs 30,000 for a third child and Rs 40,000 for a fourth child. The announcement comes amid concerns over declining fertility rates in southern states and ahead of the proposed national delimitation exercise. Naidu said population decline could pose long-term economic and political challenges for Andhra Pradesh.
