UAE Fast-Tracks New Oil Pipeline Via Fujairah To Bypass Iran-Controlled Hormuz Oil Chokehold

The UAE is fast-tracking a major oil pipeline project designed to bypass the Strait of Hormuz as fears grow that the Iran war could threaten one of the world’s most critical energy chokepoints. The new pipeline will transport crude oil from Abu Dhabi directly to the Gulf of Oman through Fujairah, allowing the UAE to continue exporting oil even if tensions in the Strait of Hormuz escalate further. The move comes amid rising instability across the Gulf following months of confrontation linked to the Iran war, including missile threats, tanker disruptions, and fears of a wider regional conflict. Officials say the pipeline is expected to begin operating in 2027 and will double the UAE’s export capacity through Fujairah — a strategic route outside the Strait of Hormuz that could become crucial for global energy security.
