The National Highways Authority of India has sanctioned an additional Rs 160 crore for the Kochi-Munnar highway development, addressing land constraints and encroachments. This funding will ensure a consistent 10m width across a 78-km stretch, straighten sharp curves, and relocate KWA pipelines. New footpaths, drainage systems, and bus shelters are also planned, with land acquisition underway for widening bottleneck areas.
