In a robust crackdown on drug trafficking, Mizoram Police have intercepted over 2.833 kg of Heroin valued at more than Rs 5.05 crore across three sites. Notable events unfolded in the districts of Saitual and Khawzawl, where authorities detained a juvenile driver alongside a Myanmar national.

The Court observed that the role of the police is not merely to arrest individuals and “dump them in jail” without diligently pursuing the prosecution thereafter.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has busted a pharmaceutical unit in Uttarakhand used by an international cartel to manufacture captagon, a potent psychotropic drug.
