India has dropped to seventh in global stock market valuation, overtaken by South Korea and Taiwan. Stock market today: The BSE Sensex, comprising 30 stocks, advanced 355.90 points, or 0.46 per cent, to close at 77,269.40. During the session, it had surged as much as 997.25 points, or 1.29 per cent, reaching an intraday high of 77,910.75.

In March, SIP inflows saw a record high of around INR32,000 crore even though the markets were down 10%. But fund managers say if retail investors don’t see returns for another 18 months, most of them will start pulling back.

Stock market today: Sensex and Nifty ended in green on Friday on positive global cues. While Nifty50 was above 24,350, BSE Sensex was up over 500 points.
