...DAY 4, SECOND SESSION...

New Zealand's opening bowlers, Matt Henry and Tim Southee, began the session with some outstanding deliveries, making life difficult for the South African batsmen. It didn't take long for Southee to send the South African skipper back to the pavilion. Working in tandem, Matt Henry also quickly removed Edward Moore from the crease. Throughout the session, they maintained tight lines and lengths, exploiting the movement available for the seamers due to breezy overcast conditions, and benefiting from the good amount of turn that Santner extracted from the pitch, along with Glenn Phillips. Coming into Session Two of Day 4, they would aim to pick quick wickets and exert more pressure on the opposition. Stay tuned as the post-Lunch session will begin at 6:10 am (12:40 am GMT).

LUNCH, DAY 4 - SESSION SUMMARY - 28 Overs, 62 Runs, and 2 Wickets. Another session that swung towards the Kiwis, but South Africa would not be too disappointed as they lost only two. The Proteas were tasked with chasing a daunting target of 528 runs after an overnight declaration. South Africa's innings got off to a rocky start once again as their captain Neil Brand fell early, followed by Edward Moore. Zubayr Hamza and Raynard van Tonder also had their fair share of shaky moments at the crease, but they managed to hold on until lunch without losing any more wickets. While they played cautiously, they didn't let their guard down fighting back, and stitched up the highest partnership for their team in this match.
