... DAY 4, SESSION 2 ...

Right then, Vidarbha's batting order still have a lot of work to do as they still have 434 runs on the board to chase. On the other end, Mumbai's bowlers were always in aggressive mood, always asking questions to the batter on the crease. But anything can happen in this game, as we all have witnessed miracles happen. On the flip side, it was a decent session for Mumbai but a couple of more wickets would make Wankhede even happier. The side began with their two experienced pacers but failed to get any positive result, unlike the other day. The other pacers also didn't find any way to disperse the opposition's opening batters. Ajinkya Rahane brings up his spinners online and sees some spark on the pitch as the deliveries were turning in and out vigorously. In the 19th over, their patience showed colors as Shams Mulani got the first and important breakthrough of the day for the side. In the very next over, an outstanding piece of bowling from Tanush Kotian squared the set batter and cleaned him up. They tried to keep the pressure on the new set batters on the pitch but failed to get another breakthrough till Lunch. 

SESSION SUMMARY - 36 overs, 94 runs, and 2 wickets. Vidarbha's overnight openers started off their session pretty slow and steady. Atharva Taide and Dhruv Shorey were communicating pretty well and formed a sturdy partnership. Atharva Taide from one end was a bit struggling to connect the delivery but from the other end, Dhruv Shorey was looking really good as he was finding the middle of the willow every single time. They formed a rugged partnership of 64 runs off 113 deliveries but it ended with the dismissal of Atharva Taide when he was just looking set on the pitch. After the event, just next over, Dhruv Shorey also has to walk down the pavilion after being clean-bowled. However, Karun Nair and Aman Mokhade the new set pair did pretty well to absorb the tension and steady the ship for the side, making sure there were no hiccups till lunch as they have still a lot of work pending. Aman Mokhade was looking really good with his sweeps to the spinners throughout the inning but Karun Nair was having a bit issue facing the pacer when Tushar Deshpande from Mumbai rejoined the attack. But did well to survive till Lunch break.

The throw is wild though and Hardik Tamore does really well behind the stumps to stop that one.

Musheer Khan to Karun Nair, Another huge appeal from Musheer Khan for LBW and the umpire turns it down again. This one seems close and Ajinkya Rahane is convinced to take the review. Top delivery though as this one is drifted into middle and leg and Khan gets it turn away sharply after pitching. Karun Nair leans on to block but is beaten past the outside edge and gets hit on the back leg. Nothing on UltraEdge and Ball Tracking shows that the ball turned a bit too much and would have missed off stump. An excellent onfield decision.
