On the flip side, the session seemed to be poised for Mumbai and they still hold a firm control to win the 42nd final of the Ranji trophy. The bowlers were yet again having a bit of difficulty finding wickets. However, there they passed the patience test and got their first breakthrough after lunch in 45th over, total credit goes to Musheer Khan, and broke the partnership which might create some serious problems for him. After the event, they again tried to suppress the new batter by doing some aggressive field setup but failed to find one instantly. But they didn't have to wait for that long as an impeccable review from Tanush Kotian helped him bag another wicket into his account. SESSION SUMMARY - 29 overs, 51 runs, and 2 wickets. The wickets are certainly an issue for Vidarbha. They lost many wickets and still have a humongous score to chase. Post-lunch Karun Nair and Aman Mokhade continued their inning with a slow pace. They were looking really good, but just when it seemed they would survive for the tea, the wicket tumbled. They formed a rugged partnership of 54 runs off 152 deliveries but eventually broke down as Aman Mokhade was dismissed. Yash Rathod, the centurion off their semis was looking confident enough to put some runs on the board for the side but he too was hunted down after an incredible review taken by the opposition for LBW. But on the other side, Karun Nair tried to perform some unorthodox shots to trigger the scoreline but after Vidarbha lost a couple of wickets he lowered his gear and defended his wicket till the end of the tea break. The skipper shook hands with settled, Karun Nair and dragged the partnership till tea time.
