Allen's knock was a game-changer, and cameos from Sanjay Krishnamurthi and Hassan Khan helped SFU post 269. Jack Edwards was the pick of the bowlers for Washington, taking 2 wickets, while Ian Holland, Mitchell Owen, and Saurabh Netravalkar took one each.

SFU's bowling was a tale of two phases - struggling in the first 6 overs against Owen and Rachin, but then making a strong comeback to dismantle Washington Freedom's batting order. Haris Rauf and Hassan Khan took 3 wickets each, while Carmi le Roux took 2 and Liam Plunkett took 1.

Washington Freedom got off to a flying start, scoring 89 in the Powerplay, but a crucial mix-up between Jack Edwards and Mitchell Owen changed the game's momentum.
