9.07 am GMT update - Not looking good - Rain is getting heavier and heavier, and more concerningly, water is seeping through the covers and spilling out onto the unprotected outfield. The intensity is so much that the ground can barely be seen in the broadcast. If and when the rain stops, the ground staff will need to clear the water off the covers and from the outfield before they can even think about removing them. The outfield, being unprotected, will have soaked up a fair bit of water by then, so it will need considerable time to drain and dry out.

8.59 am GMT update - Heavy rain now! It's hammering down in Dhaka and most of the members of the ground staff have headed back to take shelter. Several tyres have been placed on the covers to stop them from being blown away in the wind. It's not looking good right now with the rain picking up by the minute, so fair to say, this is going to be a long delay.

8.53 am GMT update - Some activity out there! Looks like the rain has eased, if not completely stopped. But wait, not so fast. The ground staff are peeling the covers back, splashing the water out, and then putting them right back where they were. Not out of the woods just yet as the center cover remain firmly placed on the pitch and squares. We can see the Super Sopper doing the rounds in the outfield, though.

8.45 am GMT update - More covers have been brought on as we speak and it is still raining in Dhaka. The ground staff can be seen hovering around the covers, keeping a close eye on the conditions. The overhead conditions do not look pleasing as of now, so we could be in for a lenghty delay. Let's hope the skies clear up soon. Stay tuned.

A strong Aussie fightback - FYI, Australia were completely on the mat early doors. Being reduced to 0/3, and then 25/4 before sliding down further to 81/6. But after that, Marnus Labuschagne and Xavier Bartlett put together a valiant recovery alliance. Bangladesh have just managed to make inroads when that 103-run partnership was beginning to threaten them. But to be fair, the Aussies have done well to manage Nahid Rana this time around. He ripped through the back of their batting in the first ODI, but they have handled him with a lot more caution today, keeping him wicketless so far.

8.36 am GMT update - Rain stops play! Oh, no. The rain has picked up, and the umpires have requested the players to walk off the field. It is absolutely pouring down now and it has gotten very dark overhead. The ground staff are quick to get the covers out, though the wind makes it a bit of a battle to get them down. They get there in the end, with the pitch and the squares protected.
