UPDATE - 4.24 pm IST (10.54 am GMT) - Oh, no! The rain is back, and the ground staff are putting the square covers back on. This return of rain will delay the resumption, which was in about 10 minutes. The two umpires have called the captains over to explain the situation. Unfortunately, it is back to square one as more covers are being brought onto the field. Stick around for more news!

UPDATE - 4.15 pm IST (10.45 am GMT) - The match officials are out for an inspection, and the ground staff are waiting for further instructions on removing the square cover, which is still in place. They have now been given the green light, and only one blue sheet of cover remains over the square.

UPDATE - 4.06 pm IST (10.36 am GMT) - Good news! The covers are coming off. It looked quite ominous when the players went off, but thankfully, it was a brief shower. The two on-field umpires are now in discussion with the captains, possibly informing them about the resumption time. There you go, play to resume at 4.35 pm IST (11.05 am GMT). The Super Sopper is being run around the outfield, and hopefully, the rain stays away.

UPDATE - 4 pm IST (10.30 am GMT) - The rain seems to have stopped as the fourth umpire and the two on-field umpires are out there, checking the conditions. The chat is going on between the umpires and the head of the groundstaff. Maybe they want to understand from where the rain is likely to come. We could hear some good news very soon. So, stay tuned!

UPDATE - 3.51 pm IST (10.21 am GMT) - The efficient ground staff at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium have done a commendable job covering the square, and additional covers are being brought out to protect the playing areas further down the ground. The rain is steady, though not particularly heavy.
