The Royal Artillery Barracks at Woolwich in South East London was the "home" of the Royal Artillery. The shooting events at the 2012 Summer Olympics will be held at a temporary venue at the Barracks. The temporary London 2012 venue at The Royal Artillery Barracks has been innovatively designed with 18,000 square metres of PVC membrane that gives the outer structures their unique appearance. Construction of the venue began in early 2011 and was completed at the start of 2012 and has the capacity to hold 7,500 spectators at a time. After the Games the temporary shooting hall will be reassembled elsewhere in the UK.
