Greenwich Park is a former hunting park in Greenwich and is London’s oldest Royal Park, dating back to 1433. It is one of the largest single green spaces in south east London and is part of the Greenwich World Heritage site and home to the Prime Meridian Line. A temporary course has been designed for the cross-country element of the Eventing competition. The venue will be used for Equestrian and Modern Pentathlon during the Games and has the capacity of 23,000 spectators. After the games all structures installed within the Park, including the arena and the cross-country jumps will be removed after the London 2012 Games.
