The Union Cabinet has approved the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Kharif crops for the 2026–27 season, aiming to provide stronger income support to farmers. The MSP has been fixed based on recommendations of the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP).

According to official estimates, the decision is expected to result in a farmer payout of nearly Rs 2.60 lakh crore, while annual procurement is projected at 824.41 lakh metric tonnes (LMT). The government also highlighted that the MSP remains at least 50% higher than the cost of production, continuing the policy introduced in 2019 to ensure better returns for cultivators.

Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on Wednesday carried out raids at more than 40 locations across the state, targeting individuals linked to a Pakistan-based gangster, PTI reported.

The ATS had specific information about suspicious activities of some persons, who were allegedly in touch with gangster Shahzad Bhatti.

Bhatti, who operated his gang from abroad, was allegedly trying to influence youth in India for unlawful activities, as per the officials.

The Enforcement Directorate's Chandigarh zonal office has arrested Ribhav Rishi and Abhay Kumar, both ex-employees of IDFC First Bank, in connection with an ongoing investigation under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

Investigation has revealed embezzlement of public funds amounting to Rs 645 Crore from the bank accounts of Haryana Government, Chandigarh UT Administration, and two private schools based in Chandigarh and Panchkula maintained with IDFC First Bank.

As cited by news agency ANI, residents and eyewitnesses alleged that several Baloch labourers were reportedly killed and many others injured after personnel of the Pakistan Coast Guard allegedly opened fire in the Kuntani area of Jiwani in Gwadar district.
