Suriya and Trisha Krishnan starrer fantasy action thriller ‘Karuppu’ was set to release on the big screens earlier today, May 14. However, due to some financial troubles, the shows were cancelled. As per the latest updates, it will be released tomorrow on Friday.

‘Karuppu’ to release on May 15

In a recent social media update, PVR Cinemas shared fresh details about the film’s release. According to the exhibitors, Karuppu is now expected to release on May 15, 2026, across their theatre chain. Even though this update quickly grabbed attention online, the makers of the film have still not confirmed the new release date officially. Fans are now waiting for a clear announcement from the production team regarding the final release plans.
According to the buzz, the producers of ‘Karuppu’ are reportedly facing financial issues connected to their financiers. Because of this, the release plans reportedly got affected once again. The team is reportedly in talks to settle the issue as soon as possible. The makers are trying hard to complete all pending matters and release the movie at the earliest. Earlier, the film was planned for a Diwali 2025 release.
Later, it was postponed because post-production work was still pending. After many months of waiting, the makers locked May 2026 for release, but the movie now seems to need a little more time.
