The 11th Zonal Permanent Negotiating Machinery (PNM) meeting of Metro Railway was held at Metro Rail Bhavan on May 13 and 14, bringing together senior management officials and representatives of the recognised employees’ union to discuss matters related to workforce welfare and organisational development.The meeting was chaired by Subhransu S. Mishra, General Manager, Metro Railway, and attended by Principal Heads of Departments, senior officers, and representatives of the Metro Railway Men’s Union, including Zonal Secretary Shri Sisir Chandra Mazumdar, General Secretary Shri Sujit Ghosh and other office bearers.In his inaugural address, Shri Mishra congratulated Metro Railway employees for their dedication and contributions across various operational and service areas. He also encouraged all stakeholders to continue working collectively towards enhancing passenger services and maintaining high standards of efficiency across the network.Over the course of the two-day meeting, management and union representatives engaged in detailed discussions on a range of issues concerning employees and organisational functioning. Various concerns, suggestions and proposals were deliberated upon, with participants exchanging ideas and exploring solutions in a constructive and cordial atmosphere.
The PNM forum serves as an important mechanism for dialogue between management and employees, facilitating collective bargaining, addressing workplace concerns and fostering healthy industrial relations within Metro Railway. The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both sides to collaborative problem-solving and the continued improvement of the Metro Railway system.
