Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and the numbers are moving quickly. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats mark the majority in a 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller-party candidates cumulatively lead in enough seats to post a tally of 115, just three short of that mark, with 10 seats already decided in their favour. SPA holds a tally of 60, having won 7 and leading in 53, while NDA is at 55 on leads alone. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 on its tally of 179 across 294 seats, with 11 won and 168 leads still being counted. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading seats. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. Over in Puducherry, NDA commands a tally of 18 in the 30-seat assembly where 16 is the majority, having already won 13 and leading in 5 more, putting it firmly past the halfway mark if those leads hold. SPA has a tally of 5 there. In Kerala, UDF leads the 140-seat count with a tally of 87, having won 68 and leading in 19, well past the majority mark of 71. LDF is trailing with a tally of 36, while candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 in the state.
