Varanasi: A man and his son were electrocuted while trying to save his wife at Pyarepur Mishra Moiddinpur village under the Rampur Belauli police station limits of Mau on Thursday morning.Mau ASP Anoop Kumar said Meena Devi (45) had gone to switch on the water pump at her house when she came in contact with a live wire. Hearing her screams, her husband, Devendra Mishra (48), rushed to rescue her but also got trapped in the electric current.Seeing his parents in distress, their son Neeraj attempted to save them. The father and son managed to free Meena from the live wire. However, Devendra suffered severe burns during the rescue attempt, while the electric shock threw Neeraj several feet away, causing serious head injuries.Meena somehow managed to step out of the house and alert neighbours. The neighbours rushed all three to the Fatehpur Mandav Community Health Centre, where doctors declared Devendra and Neeraj dead. After receiving primary treatment, Meena was referred to the district hospital.
