Chhattisgarh bags 30 medals in National Junior Kickboxing Championship
Chhattisgarh kickboxers delivered an impressive performance at the five-day National Junior Kickboxing Championship, held in Odisha and concluding on June 3, winning a total of 30 medals—five gold, 13 silver, and 12 bronze.
Organised by the Odisha Kickboxing Association under the aegis of the WAKO India Kickboxing Federation, the tournament featured 650 players and 200 officials from states across the country.
Chhattisgarh Kickboxing Association executive president Tarkesh Mishra said a 48-member contingent—39 junior boys and girls along with nine officials, coaches and referees—represented the state. Athletes competed in multiple disciplines and weight categories, including Point Fighting, Light Contact, Kick Light, Full Contact, Low Kick, K-1, Musical Forms and Creative Forms.
The medal winners came from Raipur, Bilaspur, Korba, Surguja, Mungeli, Baloda Bazar and Durg districts.
Among the top performers, Kritika Kaser won one gold and one silver, Vaibhav Goyal claimed a gold and a bronze, and Pradyumna Goyal secured one gold and one silver. Sagar Turkar and Srijan Chandrakar won a gold medal each.
Silver medallists were Gurvendra Sahu, Tanmay Singh, Harshit Trivedi, Srishti Mishra, Vaibhav Dewangan, Satish Pal, Ansh Gupta, Monika Sahu, Pranshu Sahu, Shaurya Vardhan Singh and Sangeeta Singh.
Bronze medallists were Yashvardhan Dubey, Mohd Asim, Bhavik Goyal, Yogesh Yadav, Dhairya Singh, Surbhi Tamrakar, Naman Prajapati, Vasu Tanti, Nilesh Joshi, Ayush Singh and Hariom Bunker.
