3 of family die as truck hits bike

Sasaram: Three members of a family, including two women, died after a speeding truck ran over their motorcycle on National Highway-19 under the jurisdiction of Shivsagar police station in Rohtas District on Sunday. Severely injured rider Shankar Bind, a resident of Banarsia in Sasaram, succumbed to his injuries during treatment, while his wife Priyanka Devi and sister-in-law Meena Devi died on the spot, according to Shivsagar station house officer Ritesh Kumar Singh. The family was returning from Mohania to Sasaram when the truck hit them on Girdhariya Mor overbridge.Bind was rushed to the trauma centre at the sadar hospital with critical injuries, where he passed away.The truck driver fled the scene with the vehicle immediately after the collision.Police conducted the necessary legal procedures, and the bodies were sent for postmortem before being handed over to the grieving family.
