Nashik: An employee of the TCS Nashik office arrested in a case of alleged sexual exploitation of a co-worker on the promise of marrying her, was on Wednesday denied an interim bail by a sessions court in Nashik in another case of sexual harassment and religious coercion lodged by a male co-worker. Additional sessions judge V V Kathare posted the bail matter for next hearing on April 27.
The applicant (31), a team leader, is lodged in Nashik Road Central Prison under judicial custody. He was arrested in the first of the total nine cases of sexual offences and religious coersion at the company's office being investigated by the Nashik police. The first case involving sexual exploitation (rape) was registered with the Deolali police station while the case related to the male co-worker's complaint was registered subsequently with the Mumbai Naka police.
The applicant's lawyer had sought interim bail till his main application for the bail relief was finally decided. Public prosecutor Kiran Bendbhar, while opposing the interim relief, submitted that since the alleged crime was of serious nature, she needed time to file a response to the bail plea. She submitted that the complainant was under severe stress owing to the behaviour of the accused who also hurt his religious feelings.
