MIDC CEO orders fast-tracking of land acquisition for industries in Nashik
Nashik: Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) CEO P Velarasu on Friday directed officials in the region to accelerate the land acquisition process for upcoming industries.He also instructed the officials to prepare a comprehensive road development plan for Ambad and Satpur industrial estates and submit it to the head office of MIDC in Mumbai.He issued the directives during a review meeting with the regional office. Velarasu, who was on a city tour, also told officials to collaborate with industrial associations to persuade farmers for land acquisition.

MIDC officials said the visit of the CEO to the Nashik regional office at Udyog Bhavan was to review the land acquisition status for the industries at various locations in the district, and discuss other infrastructural issues."CEO P Velarasu has directed us to speed up the land acquisition process at all locations and ensure that land acquisition is completed at the earliest and made available for industries wanting to set up their manufacturing bases here," said MIDC officials."We have also been told to conduct a survey for the road development plan, and send it to the head office of MIDC in Mumbai," added the officials.Ashish Nahar, president, Nashik Industries & Manufacturers' Association (NIMA), and its vice-president Manish Rawal were also present during the meeting with MIDC officials.
Nearly 900 hectares have been proposed for industrial use at various locations in the district over the past two years, but the acquisition process continues at a slow pace, hampering the industrial growth of Nashik.Of the 900 hectares, around 258 hectares have been proposed at Advan in Igatpuri taluka of the Nashik district. Automotive major Mahindra and Mahindra has sought around 140 hectares (350 acres) in the area. Apart from this, MIDC has also proposed acquisition of 281 hectares at Maparwadi in Sinnar taluka of the district and another 100 hectares adjacent to the existing MIDC estate at Malegaon in Sinnar taluka of the district.At Rajur Bahula, 150 hectares are to be acquired and some of the land portion to be reserved for the proposed IT. MIDC has also proposed acquisition of 90 hectares adjacent to the existing Talegaon-Akrale industrial estate of MIDC, around 7 km from the Nashik Airport. This estate is located in Dindori taluka of the district, around 18 km from Nashik city. MIDC has already developed the new industrial estate on 260 hectares there.
