Man kills mom over family dispute

Akola: In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves across Akola district, a young man allegedly murdered his mother following a domestic dispute in Vizora village of Barshitakli tehsil on Saturday morning. Acting swiftly, the local crime branch (LCB) arrested the accused within just three hours of the crime.The deceased has been identified as Ranjana Pandey, while the accused, her son Sagar Shantaram Pandey, fled the scene immediately after the crime.Upon receiving information, a team from Barshitakli police station rushed to the spot and began investigation. Considering the seriousness of the case, the Local Crime Branch was brought in. Under the directions of Superintendent of Police, multiple teams were deployed to trace the accused.The LCB team apprehended the accused from Tower Chowk while he was reportedly heading towards the railway station in a bid to flee to Ahmedabad.Preliminary investigation indicates that the murder may have been triggered by ongoing family disputes, particularly over the sale of agricultural land, along with the accused's alcohol addiction.Police officials confirmed that the accused has been taken into custody and will be produced before a court. Further investigation into the case is underway.
