Mumbai bizman held for procuring arms licence on forged docus
Mumbai: A 36-year-old businessman who allegedly renewed his arms licence from Nagaland using forged documents, including a fake Police Clearance Certificate, and submitted its copy to the city police, was arrested by the Khar police.The accused, Faiz Irfan Adenwala, was arrested by Khar Police on Friday in connection with a case registered under Arms Act, cheating, forgery and breach of trust. Police said Adenwala allegedly illegally renewed his arms licence issued from Nagaland by submitting forged documents and was found in possession of firearms on the basis of the said licence.Police further alleged that the accused had failed to submit mandatory information regarding possession of the firearm to the Brihanmumbai Police Commissionerate. The accused was produced before the 9th Court at Bandra (East), Mumbai on May 30, following which the court remanded him to police custody till June 2.Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
