Two killed, one injured as car overturns into canal after NY celebrations

Lucknow: A car returning from New Year's celebrations lost control on Wednesday night and overturned into a canal near Rajauli Para village in Gudamba, leaving two men dead and another critically injured.The car, travelling from Lucknow towards Kursi, reportedly skidded near the Behta Mati-Para village stretch and plunged into a canal. Villagers informed the police.The deceased were identified as Vinod Yadav (45), a property dealer from Palia Kursi road, Barabanki, and Arun (23). The injured companion, Kunwar, who was travelling with the victims, sustained serious injuries and is currently being treated at CHC Gudamba, police said.Police reached the spot and pulled the car out of the canal. Both Vinod and Arun were declared dead on arrival, while Kunwar remains under observation in a stable condition.SHO Gudamba, Prabhatesh Srivastava said, "The injured were immediately rushed to CHC Gudamba. The local police are investigating the accident and taking all necessary measures at the scene."Family members demanded a thorough investigation. Vinod's brother, Virendra Yadav, requested that the injured companion be questioned to establish the sequence of events, while Arun's father, Santosh Rawat, expressed grief, noting that his son was recently married and his wife is expecting.
