Lucknow: BSP national president Mayawati emphasised holding “small-level” meetings with Bahujan communities and motivate them to assume governance and become “ruling class like it is in UP”.Mayawati is reviewing the party’s organisational set-up in states preparing for Assembly elections early next year. Having reviewed UP unit on Sunday, she took up review of the Uttarakhand unit on Tuesday. She may hold similar meeting in Punjab, which also has Assembly elections due in early 2027.In these meetings, she has been asking her partymen to strengthen outreach efforts with Bahujan communities, which include Dalits, OBCs, Muslims and other religious minorities and poor from upper castes.While asking her partymen to be vigilant against the opposition parties trying to weaken BSP’s vote base, she said voters should also be warned of opposition through cadre camps and small-level meetings.
