Man, son die after car rams into motorcycle in Sultanpur
Lucknow: A man and his son died after a speeding car rammed into their motorcycle in Sultanpur district on Monday morning, police said.The accident occurred around 6 am near Hakuwa Mod in the Bandhua Kala police station area. The victims were identified as Rajaram Prajapati (50) and his son Sikandar Prajapati (25), residents of Bahmarpur village under Kudwar police station limits.Police and family members said the two had visited Rajaram’s brother-in-law at Gauri Ka Purwa village on Sunday evening following an eye operation. They were returning home on Monday morning when the car allegedly struck their motorcycle.Both sustained critical injuries in the collision. Locals took them to the Community Health Centre in Musafirkhana, where doctors referred them to Sultanpur Medical College as their condition worsened. They later died during treatment.Police said the driver abandoned the car at the scene and fled. The damaged vehicle has been seized and brought to the police station for investigation.Family members said Rajaram worked with a construction company but had been at home due to ill health. Sikandar, employed with a private firm in Surat, returned on leave about a month ago. He was married, and his wife is currently at her parental home, said station house officer Pramod Kumar.
