Lucknow: Police arrested a hotel owner on Wednesday, a day after a pedestrian died after being hit by falling construction debris in the Chinhat police station area.Station house officer Dinesh Chandra Mishra said the accused, Vishal Tiwari, 35, a resident of Suryas Enclave in Naubasta Kala, was taken into custody within 24 hours. Police alleged Tiwari threw cement debris from a rooftop, leading to the fatal incident.The arrest follows the death of Anup Kumar Singh, 36, a service manager at a car showroom, who was struck by a sack of construction debris that allegedly fell from the second floor of an under-construction building in Vasundhara Vihar locality of Naubasta Kala village on Tuesday morning.According to police, Singh, originally from Deoria district, was walking to work when accumulated cement debris was allegedly thrown from the rooftop without checking the road below. The sack reportedly hit him, leaving him critically injured.Locals rushed Singh to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, where doctors declared him dead.On the complaint of Singh’s wife, Ritu, Chinhat police registered a case under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police said Tiwari was arrested from Dhawa Mod in Chinhat.
