Sangli LCB makes 7th arrest in bank robbery case
Kolhapur: A 30-year-old man, resident of Hasanpur in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh, is seventh arrest in the case of bank robbery that took place earlier this year in Jan.The local crime branch (LCB) of Sangli police arrested the accused, identified as Adesh Sharma, a few days ago and brought him to Sangli.The team, led by assistant police inspector Jaydeep Kalekar, was formed to arrest the robbers. Around 22 lockers from the bank were broken using a gas cutter during the night of Jan 7 and Jan 8. Among the six accused three are from Sangli district, while the remaining are from Uttar Pradesh.After Sharma's arrest, police found gold jewellery worth Rs13.3 lakh in his backpack. He told police that the jewellery is from the lockers broken into from Sangli District Central Cooperative ban's Zhare branch located in Atpadi tehsil. So far, the police have recovered around 2,200 grams of gold and 30kg of silver worth Rs3.25 crore.
