Revised Jyotiba temple development plan worth 250 crore gets govt nod
Kolhapur: State govt on Wednesday evening approved the Jyotiba temple and hill development revised plan at Wadi-Ratnagiri worth Rs252.09 crore.Paschim Maharashtra Devasthan Samiti administrator Dr Vijay Rathod said, "The revised administrative approval for the development of Jyotiba temple has paved the way for the availability of funds. Priority has been given to completing the development plan on time and ensuring that all the works are of high quality."State govt had originally approved the Jyotiba Temple and Hill Development Plan on May 28, 2025. Under that initial phase, the planning department is currently executing works worth Rs81.60 crore.Kolhapur district administration submitted a proposal to govt's high-powered committee in Nov 2025 that the planning department itself should carry out the remaining works worth Rs170.49 crore and also provide the funds. This proposal was approved in a meeting of the apex committee chaired by the chief minister and chief secretary on Wednesday.These include repairs of footpaths and the central plaza, main entrance widening, CCTV, disaster management room, conservation of historical structures, large-scale tree plantation and solar power projects. tnn
