Jagtap Nagar residents protest against irregular water supply

Kolhapur: Women residents from Jagtap Nagar area in Kolhapur city resorted to a rasta-roko protest on Wednesday morning owing to irregular water supply for the last few daysThe protesters alleged that they do not receive tap water in their area for weeks, but the supply is regular in the surrounding areas.The women demanded to change the water key operator of the area. A large number of commuters had to face inconvenience due to the traffic congestion that took place due to the protest.Jyoti Salunkhe, one of the protesters, said, "Water scarcity in our area is not new, but despite repeated requests to the civic administration, the issue has not been resolved. When surrounding areas are receiving ample water, why is our area neglected?"Meanwhile, KMC water supply official Harshjit Ghatge said, "Rectification work has commenced. Reasons for their area receiving improper water supply will soon be traced, and the issue will be resolved."
